It is amazing to me how God has brought this opportunity to me. One day I was at church and I stopped to visit with Dr. Reyes and his family. "What are you doing this summer, Katie?" "Nothing," I replied. He told me to consider interning with Buckner as it would be a good experience and maybe it would lead to a future position once I graduate.
"What have I to lose?" I thought and I applied. Through conversations with friends they encouraged me in this adventure. When I was having second thoughts or wondering if this is really for me, they carried on for me. They were excited and they began to instill a passion and excitement within me to go and work with the Romanians.
At times I wonder if this is really going to happen; I am lacking funds and I don't even know what to expect. This is the biggest adventure that I have ever risked taking. "Are you sure God that this is what I am supposed to do?"
I am ready to jump in, to risk my comfort, my easy life for the sake of furthering the kingdom of God. I know that He did greater things, He risked His very life. I will gladly give a month of my life to go and love these people, to love them like Jesus.
Thanks to you all who have encouraged me and who are praying for this great adventure that I will embark on officially in only two weeks!
